About Davina Shorter

Davina Shorter is a highly accomplished African American serial entrepreneur, author, and content creator who has made significant contributions to the tech industry. With over ten years of experience in the tech field, she has established herself as a leader in Digital Project Management, Employee Engagement, Leadership Development, and DE&I Initiatives. 

Davina's journey began as a Product and Career Development Training Facilitator for a technology company while pursuing her career as a Project Manager. As she pursued her PMP certification, she started sharing her expertise and tips on social media, which led her to create one of the largest content creator pages for Project Managers called @thesocialprojectmanager. Her content was well received by professionals trying to get into the industry, which led her to write the book, The Ultimate Guide to Getting into Project Management, where she shared her best practices to help others get into Project Management. .

Davina is also the author of Legend Learns Politics, a children's book that focuses on breaking down political roles and advancing children's knowledge about concepts and life skills 

As her passion for helping young professionals transition into Project Management grew, Davina founded YPPM (Young Professional Project Managers), the world's leading Project Management association for Young Professionals. YPPM is dedicated to connecting, advancing, and empowering project managers and creating a community where young professionals can learn, grow, and develop their skillset with like-minded people. 

Davina is also the Founder and CEO of Social Project LLC, a Digital Services and Social Media Management Agency. The company's mission is to advance digital equality by developing talent that can service underrepresented small business owners that are POC or women-owned businesses. Social Project LLC is dedicated to developing future digital innovators, providing digital literacy to students, and creating a new generation of diverse entrepreneurs in the digital and tech space. 

Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Davina graduated with her bachelor's degree in Business and is currently pursuing an MBA with a concentration in Marketing. She is an accomplished speaker who educates small business owners on the importance of social media marketing and helps students and professionals transition into Tech and Project Management. With her extensive experience and dedication to empowering others, Davina is a true inspiration to the tech industry and beyond.
